What is the minimum order quantity for Spain?
500 cartons per SKU is the standard minimum. Several SKUs can be combined into one container, which is the usual way to start without overcommitting on a single flavour.
Who is responsible for compliance in Spain?
Your importer is the food business operator named on the pack and handles the customs declaration and the Spanish packaging tax obligations. ACMFOOD supplies specifications, certificates of analysis and traceability records. Confirm your own obligations with AESAN or your customs broker.
Does the label have to be in Spanish?
Mandatory information must be given in Spanish for the Spanish market. We plan artwork around this from the first draft, because retrofitting Spanish copy into a layout designed for English usually means redoing the label.
How does the Spanish plastic packaging tax affect my costs?
It is charged on the weight of non-recycled plastic in the packaging, so a lighter bottle or one with recycled content reduces the charge. Because it depends on the packaging specification, it should be priced before the bottle format is fixed rather than after.
Does EVFTA reduce the duty on beverages from Vietnam?
EVFTA reduces tariffs on a staged schedule, so the rate depends on both the HS code and the year. Check the current schedule for your specific product rather than assuming duty-free entry, and prepare origin documentation to claim the preference.
Which port should my shipment go to?
Valencia and Barcelona handle most container traffic into Spain, with Algeciras also used for transhipment. Transit time affects the shelf life remaining on arrival; our products carry 18 to 24 months depending on product and format.
